Ginetta
G16 £65,000
The G16 was a pure racing car development of the
G12 theme. It was a 2 litre GT designed to accept various power units.
They
first appeared in 1968 as an open topped Group 6 car and as such can now run in
many historic race series. In period the majority of the cars built (less than
15) were owned, raced and developed by members of The Worcestershire Racing
Association. Ginetta themselves did not have the resources to
develop the car due to the introduction of the G15. Lacking enormous
success in period the surviving cars have been successfully developed into class winning cars capable of beating Chevrons et al.
We have for sale Chassis
16/005 originally
owned by Ian Tee. The car was initially fitted with a 2 litre BRM V8 engine and
designated a G16A. It now retains the more popular BMW power unit which was fitted in period.
The car has been prepared for FIA endurance racing with
big tanks, dual pumps and ignition, etc. The engine is by Lester Owen with 208
bhp on the dyno from endurance cams and fully legal BMW castings. FT200
transaxle by PDS Racing. Double adjustable shocks. Alloy radiator.
